Talk to the people around you. poqpoq World connects to Discord so joining voice is one click away — no hunting for channels, no alt-tabbing, no friction.
Text chat creates communities. Voice chat creates friendships. poqpoq World uses Discord as its voice layer because it is free, reliable, and something most players already know how to use. When you enter an area, a voice channel is automatically created for that location. A single click in the Comms panel drops you straight into the right conversation — in a popup, so the game keeps running behind it.
No extra software to install beyond Discord itself. No subscriptions. Just open Comms, switch to Local chat, and click the mic.
Joining voice takes one click. Here is the full flow.
The 🎤 button lives in the Comms panel header. Its state tells you what is available.
| Button State | What It Means | What Happens When You Click |
|---|---|---|
| 🎤 bright (Local tab) | Voice is available for your current area | Opens Discord WORLD VOICES in a popup — game stays running |
| 🎤 greyed out (DM tab) | Private voice not yet supported | Nothing — use Discord DMs directly for private calls |
| 🎤 greyed out (other tabs) | Voice only available in Local chat context | Nothing — switch to Local tab to enable it |
You do not need to create voice channels or figure out which one matches your location. The system handles it automatically.
When you enter an area like pOqpOq Plaza, the system checks whether a voice channel already exists for that location. If it does not, one is created automatically under the WORLD VOICES category in Discord. The channel is named after the location, so you always know where a conversation is happening.
When everyone leaves an area, its voice channel sticks around for five minutes in case someone comes back. If the area stays empty, the channel is quietly removed. This keeps the Discord server tidy -- you only ever see channels for places where something is actually happening.
In a future update, linking your Discord account will let your voice follow you between areas automatically. Walk from the Plaza to Allen's Workshop and the right channel switches with you — no clicking required.
The community Discord server is organized into sections that mirror what you care about. Here is the layout.
The WORLD VOICES section is fully automatic. You will never need to create, rename, or delete a voice channel. The channels that appear there reflect the places in poqpoq World where people are actually gathered right now.
In a future update, your role in Discord will be synced automatically with your poqpoq World account. As you progress in-world, your Discord permissions will expand to match. For now, roles are assigned manually.
Role syncing is automatic and one-directional. When your poqpoq World account tier changes, your Discord role updates to match. You do not need to request a role change manually.
Builders can place a Discord widget directly inside the 3D world. This is a live panel -- usually set up on a flat screen or notice board prim -- that shows who is currently online and which voice channels are active. You can see at a glance whether your friends are around before you even join a channel.
Look for screen-shaped objects in social areas like pOqpOq Plaza. These "community boards" display the live Discord widget, showing online members and active voice channels. It is a window into the community without leaving the 3D environment.
If you are a builder, you can set this up yourself: create a flat prim, open the Build Panel's Media tab, and paste the Discord widget URL. The prim face becomes a live community dashboard.
Every voice-related action in poqpoq World uses deep links -- URLs that open the correct place in Discord directly. Whether you click the voice indicator, a community board, or a link shared in text chat, you land exactly where you need to be. If you have the Discord desktop or mobile app, it opens natively. If not, it opens in your browser.
There is nothing to configure. The system knows which area you are in and generates the correct link automatically.
Linking your Discord account shares only your Discord username and user ID with poqpoq World. No passwords, no message history, no friend lists, no guild memberships -- nothing beyond the bare minimum needed to connect you to the right voice channel. You can unlink your account at any time from the settings panel.
Your Discord username is only visible to other players in poqpoq World if you choose to show it. By default, other players see your poqpoq display name, not your Discord identity.
